Folding Origami Flowers In 10 Basic Steps

Folding papers into shapes to create decorative objects is a Japanese word called Origami. This is exactly what is done when making an origami boat. I had been bedridden for the last six months and feeling really stressed out and sad, then I happened to find an ad for making origami flowers and I tried it. My stress level decreased dramatically after I learned how to make origami flowers and it became a very relaxing pass time of mine. Looking at one of the origami flowers that I created always gives me a sense of pride and accomplishment. Therefore, my depression began plummeting substantially.

To make an origami flower only a few tools are necessary. Any local hobby, or art store would carry the specific color or colors of origami paper that you may need to construct your crafts. You can use typical newspaper for this, however the original origami paper is made thinner for the folding process and its already created to the right measurements. All you need to construct these oragami flowers is a pencil, a ruler, and a pair of scissors.

One of the easiest origami flowers to elaborate is the rose. One sheet of origami paper is needed for the leaves and three pieces are needed for the flower. Your second sheet is red and about 3/4 the length of the first, and the third sheet of paper is about 3/4 of the second. The green one (the fourth square) will be have the same measurements as the largest red piece. The pattern used to fold the three red pieces is the origami square base.

This is an easy process to learn. Diagonally, fold one square, then fold it on the East-west line and the North-South line. Be sure that the colored side is facing upwards. Fold the diagonals downward (as a valley goes), and the North-South and East-West line as the mountain range goes (upward). Make this process again on the other 2 red pieces.

Now, fold the right corner of the base to the imaginary line in the middle and then unfold it. Next fold the edge onto the crease mark you made and unfold it. And then you can fold the right edge to the left, and make this process again on the reverse side. Perform the same steps on the other two pieces of red origami paper. Then, put the rose pedal forms inside one another to giving your flower a 3-D look. And finally, put all the red pedals underneath the green leaves that you shape from the green paper to create your own beautiful flower.

The art of creating origami flowers is a rewarding, cheap hobby. Once you get the right directions, its not hard to learn or create a paper origami. This process may take some people about an hour to get the hang of. The creation of origami flowers gets faster the more of these lovely flowers you make.
