I was asked the other day about how I would go about hanging a canvas print or a framed picture and the first thing I though of was well make sure that the size of the frame doesn’t dominate the space your putting it in and make sure it’s not too small either as both would look out of place.

If you’re going to hang a canvas print from a photo then the best thing to do is measure the area that you’re going to hang one before you go ahead and commit to a purchase then take away a few centre meters from either side and that would be the perfect size to go for. Also it’s not just about the size of the canvas print it’s the image that is on the canvas print.
One good suggestion of what type of picture to choose for the room you’re hanging it in is colour and decor. Try and match it up a little with the most dominate colour in that room, so let’s say the dominate colour is purple and you have little bits of green in the room to I would then try and get a picture that has lots of green in it and then just little bits of purple as you will find that the colours will compliment them self’s and won’t look as cluttered and you can esayly end up with a colour clash otherwise.

So you have a good idea of what colours you can get away with and how much you can apply when getting a canvas photo print, now you’re asking yourself should I go for a canvas photo of should I go for the design style picture. Well it’s really up to you and how you have your interior set out. If you have a homely feel to your house or if it’s a gift then a photo on canvas is always a brilliant way of showing you care and they always look amazing to but if you’re have a very trendy and hip style to your home or if the image is going in a funky style gallery then the design type of image normally blends in a bit better. There is another type of way to show your photo and to have a design style both in the same image and that is called pop art, allot of the online website offer this service were you can take an original photo and turn it into a cartoony looking picture which is then used to print on canvas with. Or if you feel generous then you can always get one of each and decide on which one you like the best and either hang one in another room or give one away as a gift.
Whichever type of canvas print you decide to go for always remember to get the size and the colour right with the room your putting it in and you will always come out on top.
