Why Are Juggalos Interested In Normal Icp?

When one pictures Insane Clown Posse photos in his or her head, they presumably picture clown paint, bleached hair and/or dreadlocks (depending on the time period), and probably some chains too. This is the image conjured up in the average Juggalo’s head because, well, that’s exactly what the horror rap duo looks like when seen in public. But what does an Insane Clown Posse photo of “normal” ICP (no clown paint) look like? It’s a mystery for now…

Why are fans so interested in normal Insane Clown Posse photos? The answer is in the opening paragraph. Because Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope have seldom been seen without makeup on, or when people would refer to them as normal ICP, fans are keenly more interested in normal ICP or Insane Clown Posse photos than they would be otherwise. The longer you deprive someone of something, the more they want it!

All public Insane Clown Posse photos now show the horror rap group doing what you would expect horror rappers to do, which is awesome. Most people like horror rap for the dark imagery (maniacal clown paint), and get their rocks off on Insane Clown Posse photos that embody the themes central to horror rap. This begs the question: If fans are so enamored with the idea of horror rap, why would they want to see photos of normal ICP?

To this writer, part of what makes Insane Clown Posse photos great is their mystery. If Juggalos saw pictures of the horror rap group’s members Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope in normal garb, wouldn’t some of the appeal be lost? Normal ICP would look like two normal dudes, and what’s exciting about that?

Celebrity status and intrigue are taken down a notch when the people us commoners so revere are relegated to ordinary status. If ever Insane Clown Posse photos surface of the group being “normal” ICP, then the mystery that is part of the group’s attraction would be lost, and Juggalos would eventually grow bored with a more normal ICP. Do you agree?

The makeup and theatre of horror rap isn’t specific to ICP; there are plenty of other horror rap artists like Boondox, Twiztid, Blaze and more that perform with makeup and are seldom photographed without it. In the same way that Insane Clown Posse photos featuring normal ICP would hurt ICP, similar occurrences of this happening to these artists would do the same thing for their careers.

So think twice before you scour the Internet for Insane Clown Posse photos of the horror rap group being relegated to normal ICP status. When the mask is taken away, you’ll be sorry that your favorite horror rap group is no longer as interesting!
