| After the completion of student life, working for a
successful career is the only thing that looms over our
mind. Isn’t it? So, getting a job becomes the need of the
hour. After a lot of search you finally manage to get one!
Now, although you should live happily ever after that

at office comes a lot of responsibilities, performance and
ability to socialize with colleagues. And if you fail there
you will be shown the door! So, what are the skills which
you should possess to have a smooth sailing job? Here, we
will discuss some of the essential career qualities and
skills to develop for attaining a successful career. First and foremost, it is of greatest importance to find a job according to your education and taste, and strive until you achieve the right job for you. Never rely on short term career and look forward to stick to the chosen job. Till you don’t get one have patience because losing that would only bring the roof down upon you without gaining anything for you. Once you are through with a series of interviews and has bagged a job in your hand, it’s now time to brush up your skills that would not only help you stick to your job but would also help you to learn the most out of it. Let’s now focus on the very basic qualities that you should be careful about when you are stepping into your office: Flexibility:- The first parameter to your way of success is flexibility. You may possess bright ideas, hand-full of experience and great creative ideas but if you are rigid about job parameters, like office timings, leaves etc then you may face problems. You should be ready to take up challenges and act with quick response when it is required out of you. Remaining patient with your colleagues (even if they are saying crap) and respecting their opinions should be your key motives. However, don’t be too flexible that you lose out the main purpose of your assigned task or your main goal. Organizational Skills:- Being organized is extremely important for an idea/task to be completed with perfection within much less time. Being organized will always save you time, excess work load, confusion and panic. So chalking down work and keeping your work place spick and span can gain you proper work on time and appreciations from your colleagues and seniors as well! While being organized, remember certain important things: Leadership Quality:- Leadership is an inborn, spontaneous quality which can’t be taught or infused. However, a brief discussion on it may help you to bring about your latent quality into surface. Your leadership quality depends on your leadership behavior towards others. A good leader must possess certain values like: Overall we sum up the task of a great leader by quoting John Quincy Adams: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Creativity:- This is another quality that you have to be blessed with. But I guess, everyone is creative in their own way! For example, a person may have creative ideas flowing when he sees a piece of land. He may be thinking of creating a beautiful building out of it. On the other hand, another individual can’t understand how can a building be made out of the land but, knows to make the right kind of dress with a given piece of cloth. Therefore, creativity depends on the choice and interest of the person and here, comes the right choice of picking out the right job for you. If you can pick the correct job for you skills then your creative skill will automatically compliment your work. However, being creative means how well you can establish your innovative ideas with reality. The blend of both imagination and practical utility is essential for being creative in your work. Team Spirit: If you are working in a company or working in a big corporate house or owning a company of your own, always know that the company’s success lies in the performance of its team. Therefore, effective team work is the crux of a company moving up the ladder. So having a team spirit and adjusting in a team with your own individual say in the team is an important task. You can’t afford to work alone as you are not specialized in all the fields of work! You have to take into consideration a body of subordinates and, experienced & senior people who will help in and out of all the functions to take place properly within the company/organization.
