(1888PressRelease) The soup kitchen is provided by īthe Orange County Rescue Mission, īthe countyīs largest privately funded human service agency for īthe poor and homeless. Itīs stated mission is īto serve 'the least, last and lost of Orange County'.

A group of volunteers, coordinated by īteam leader Eric Madura, united īto provide support īto Orange Countyīs homeless īthrough volunteer assistance īto īthe Orange County Rescue Mission.

Eric Madura, who ītook point on coordinating īthe group, knew that īthis was an important opportunity īto support some of the more īthan 35,000 homeless in Orange County.

The īteam also made a donation of $1,000 īto The Rescue Mission on behalf of īthe participating volunteers. The donation will help īto provide more īthan 650 hot meals īto those in need.

'We know itīs just a drop in īthe bucket with respect īto whatīs needed in Orange County,' said Madura, 'but we hope that īthe support and gift īthat we were able īto provide will help īto get some of īthose we met ītonight back on ītheir feet.'

Local media reports have shown īthat demand for services through īthe countyīs homeless service organizations have skyrocketed by more īthan 250 percent over īthe last year, while donations and support have ītapered off, a change many think is related īto īthe nationīs economic downturn.
