| One of the most important parts of a company's success is
it's management. How that management runs the company
decides the overall outcome of the company including
productivity and other such processes. The ISO 9001 training
is designed to organize that very section of any company or
industry so as to increase all aspects of a company's
overall efficiency. This block of standards (the 9000 block, that is) was created using the PDCA method. PDCA stands for plan-do-check-act and it is a method of developing standards by a "leap-frog" effect. It works like this: first, an action is planned, then it is performed, then how the action affects other actions is checked, then it that action is acted on by the other actions in place. This method not only creates a uniform standard, but an interconnected chain of procedures. This chain is designed (in the case of the ISO 9001) to improve general company practices and improves overall performance. This series of standards is designed to show management how to better and more efficiently maintain a company's infrastructure, resulting in a more thorough sense of organization, leadership, and company focus towards the customer. To improve overall performance, the ISO 9001 standards work by defining policy and that policy's objectives by monitoring and measuring that company's processes. By doing so, certain inefficient (and sometimes useless) process or procedures can be cast aside and reinvented. By the PDCA procedure, these obsolete methods can steadily be replaced by new and improved ones. In the end, a company will see a more singular driven goal that is met by a series of well defined procedures and practices. The majority of these are geared towards overall customer satisfaction as well as increased production. On top of that, they help to reduce risks in production as well as inspection and research and development costs. When it comes to training for the ISO 9001, there are a list of basic principals that typical management is responsible for knowing and applying. Some of those principals include a customer focus, general leadership, involvement of people, and continual improvement. There are others, but those are some of the more important ones that are taught. While ISO 9001 training is designed for management, it's important that all facets of management are involved. Depending on how extensive that is (or how big the company is) it can be an expensive course to take. Of course, the general idea is that a company will benefit beyond what they lose. However, there's no guarantee of that, and for a price as high as this, it would behoove any company interested in this style of training to inspect it for themselves. |
