| For any company to be successful, it needs a long list of
things. One of the primary things on that list is a sense of
organized management. To get that, most companies trust ISO
9001 training to provide their management with the tools
necessary to promote structure. Moreover, it promotes
overall company efficiency. The ISO 9000 block was created by the use of the PDCA method. PDCA stands for plan-do-check-act, meaning that any company action is planned, performed, checked against other actions, and implemented along side them in a "leap-frog" fashion. By the use of this method, a solid, uniform chain of uniformly working procedures is built, and thus standards for efficiency. This chain is designed (in the case of the ISO 9001) to improve general company practices and improves overall performance. This series of standards is designed to show management how to better and more efficiently maintain a company's infrastructure, resulting in a more thorough sense of organization, leadership, and company focus towards the customer. Performance is further increased by the definition of the company's policies and its objectives. They are defined by the monitoring and the measuring of the company's processes. This will help to identify which of them are obsolete and help to build on them or create new ones entirely. Eventually, the use of the PDCA and the chain it creates will weed out those methods until a more structured and efficient chain is developed. In the end, a company will see a more singular driven goal that is met by a series of well defined procedures and practices. The majority of these are geared towards overall customer satisfaction as well as increased production. On top of that, they help to reduce risks in production as well as inspection and research and development costs. Should management go through the training for the ISO 9001, they will be taught a basic list of principals. Some of the many principals include continuing to improve, involving people, leadership, and focusing on the customer. Along with the others, these principals will show what management is responsible to help the company to advance. Being that they are taught over several days, the ISO 9001 training does cost a bit of money. The cost is further influenced by the size of the company and the management that are sharing in the training experience. In the end, it can be very pricey, but since it's designed for increased productivity and company efficiency, it's supposed to yield more positive results than the cost of the course. Results, however, do vary, meaning any company looking towards this training should look into it themselves. |
