  Each and day after day, business persons meet each other and one of the introductory questions somebody asks is, What do you do?

If you answer this question in the right way, it will make your bottom line soar! Conversely, messing up the answer will prevent you from the success you work so hard to achieve.

I would guess that 90% of business persons answer this question faulty (and that includes 100% of the business persons I speak with.) The faulty answer is, Im a plumber, Im a florist, Im an attorney, or Im a . This is the faulty answer for a few reasons:

First, it doesn’t tell the individual you’re speaking with anything distinctive in regards to you. They can acknowledge somebody who needs your product or service, but dont acknowledge incisively what you do, so you’re missing a possible probability to benefit a new client. Second, it doesn’t give rise to farther speech unless the individual either knows something in regards to your industry or they’re in need of your product or service themselves. Think in regards to how often times you have answered this question faulty - and multiply that by the hundreds or thousands of dollars lost in sales OUCH!

Now, imagine answering that same question decently. You would be so busy with new clients and repeat business that you would get started to wonder how you ever answered any other way. Lets say you own a Lawn Service company. Instead of saying to somebody, I cut grass, lets go deeper and find a manner to draw the individual into the speech. You could say something like, I assist householders reduce their each day stress and free up their time so they may do something they get enjoyment from doing. This answer will practically ALWAYS be followed up with, How do you do that? See how we have now started a speech? You then reply, I own XYZ Landscaping and I maintain the householders yard so they dont have to have a feeling of in regards to when they’ll make the time to cut their grass. Knowing that my company is taking care of their yard assists reduce their stress and worry and they now have more time to get enjoyment from with their family.

Dont think that your business differs. This conception may work in any industry whether you provide a product or a service.

Action Step: Spend a heap of time thinking in regards to what troubles you solve for your clients. Find a originative way to explain how your company solves those troubles. Write out your answer and exercise it until you have it memorized.
