| Have you ever considered just how boring the standard gps
voices that come already installed on your gps unit actually
are? Usually you get a couple of Americans, an Irish person,
one English and a New Zealander. None of these are exactly
amusing, so checking out some GPS reviews
and buying an additional voice or two for you gps unit makes
good sense. There are now a number of online sellers providing some really great quality gps voices to upload onto your unit. Some are strictly 'adult only', with swearing and the like. Others however, offer cartoon characters, movie stars and a range of well known celebrity characters. A lot of the voices on offer provide frighteningly good impersonations of the real voices. The characters from the hit TV show family guy are proving to be extremely popular at the moment. Peter and Stewie Griffin are selling like hotcakes. But is you want Ozzy Osborne, Sean Connery and Home Simpson, they are freely available too. There are many freebies on offer, but the premium paid voices do tend to offer better quality than the free counterparts. Installation of additional voices onto your gps unit is a remarkably simple procedure, with most voices coming with a set of full instructions to assist you. The less popular units can be a little trickier, but the Tomtom, Gamin and Magellan units are very simple. The add-on Tomtom and Gamin voices that are available really do add a fun element to your gps and are thoroughly recommended. $10 or so will buy you a voice and there are packages available. You can be up and running in just a few minutes. They improved the quality of our journeys no end, the kids loved them, and I enjoyed the peace. |
