Iphone Sales Break All Records

iPhone sales have broken all records during the first weekend on sale. There were more than 4 million iPhone 4S units sold, after over 1 million pre-sales in the first 24 hours, making it the most popular Apple device ever sold. The iPhone 4S is selling for $199, $299 or $399, depending on features. According to Stan Schroeder, Mashable, the iPhone 4S is available in the U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK, and it’s coming to 22 more countries on Oct. 28 and more than 70 countries by the end of 2011.

To put the iPhone 4S sales in perspective, Samsung has sold 10 million Galaxy S II Smartphones in the first five months on the market. It took three weeks for Apple to sell 3 million iPhone 4 units, and it took 74 days to sell the first million units of the original iPhone.

Why are iPhone 4S sales so amazing? According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “The release represents the end of Apple´s era under Jobs, who died this month after an eight-year battle with cancer. The iPhone 4S has received mostly positive reviews for its voice- recognition software, speedier processor and improved camera. The device also provides Apple with fresh ammunition in its fight against Google Inc.´s Android software, which will appear on a host of new Smartphones in the year-end holiday season.”

Dozens of my friends are buying the iPhone 4S. When my friends get the new iPhones, I am sure they will want some of the cool new accessories like the iPhone 4 Power Charging Case that has a built in battery to recharge your phone when your iPhone is low on battery juice. Smartphones, iPhones included, tend to be battery vampires, draining batteries at the speed of sound. With so many apps running, the poor Smartphone batteries just can’t keep up. With many Smartphones you can buy an extended battery, but not so with the iPhone. You have to send your entire phone to Apple just to get the battery replaced, with no iPhone extended battery option. In this case, the Power Charging Case only makes sense. It can double the time between charges.

Regardless of why, the iPhone 4S sales are skyrocketing! As usual, rumors are already flying about new products from Apple, including possibly an mini (7 inch) iPad and of course the iPhone 5. If the iPhone 4S sales are any indication, Apple will record sales again.
