| What happens when you know you are going to need a file on
your home computer while you are away at work or visiting a
friend? It often turns out to be a hassle where you have to
remember to email yourself the file. Then what about those
times when you don´t realize you will need something until
the moment it is needed? You would be out of luck in most
cases, but not if you had remote PC access! Remote PC access is simply a way to access all of the information on a single computer from another computer with internet access. If you can gain access to a work computer from home or from a laptop you can work literally anywhere. If you can gain access to a home computer from a laptop or various locations it would be fast and simple to share pictures and other files with friends. Also, you may be in a line of business where sharing files on your computer with someone who is located in another state is necessary from time to time. Remote PC access services are the only way to safely give someone else access to your computer or to access their computer. You can even create a slide show or presentation on your home computer and access it instantly in the office when it comes time to give the presentation! Accessing your computers remotely is all about convenience and functionality. Using this kind of software means, you do not have to waste time and energy worrying about how to access important data. From a convenience, perspective people everywhere are using the platform to retrieve files, music and photos for personal reasons but the biggest news may be in the business world. Remote PC access has become a functional part of many offices allowing easy file transfers and other sharing tasks. Remote Access in the Past On a large scale, remote PC access is just becoming popular; however, this option has been available for 20 years or more at least. People are increasingly comfortable with internet based interactions, which is likely why these services are more in demand today than just a few short years ago. Using internet features has become a way of life as people check their bank accounts online; pay their phone bill and a great number of other things. The fear over these programs has passed away. VNC and Remote desktop through Microsoft Windows are both great examples of this type of early remote access. Both of these techniques required a user to set up network services on the computer to be accessed prior to trying to gain access remotely from another computer. An internet-based program only requires you to download software into the computer you want to access remotely one time. You can then log into the service´s website from any other computer and sign in to that computer instantly. You never have to worry about signing your computer into a network before you want to access it! You know, even though remote PC access software comes with so many benefits, there are a few things you should be aware of so you can protect yourself. It is possible to get hacked if people know your user information. If that happens, they could access all the files you can access with your remote pc access connection. So you have to keep this in mind, just like you have to keep other types of internet security in mind. |
