| Wireless Internet provides many more benefits than basic
internet. It allows you to access the internet throughout
your whole house and even further. To use the wireless
internet you must have a few things set up. You will need broadband internet connection, a wireless compatible computer, and a wireless router. These will need to be set up before your wireless network can be accessed. If it is already set up and you´re experiencing problems you may need to contact your internet provider to see if they are having connectivity issues. With an internet connection and a compatible computer, you will be able to connect to the internet through your router. First, it will need to be plugged into a power outlet. If it is plugged in properly, the power light will turn on. Next, you will need to find the DLS or cable modem in your house. It is sometimes hidden in a closet or cupboard. It will have an outlet where the wireless cable can plug into. Once you´ve found this modem you will need to plug the network cable into it. This cable will usually come with your wireless router. If, for some reason you do not have this cable you can purchase one pretty inexpensively. This same cable will need to be connected to the router. The connection point will be labeled WAN or LAN internet. Make sure you connect it securely or the internet will not have a strong connection. Make sure your network cable is properly connected to both plugs. You should see a light labeled internet come on. This means you have successfully connected to the internet and a wireless signal should be available throughout your house. The configuration of the router needs to be done to have proper security and access. They will come with directions on how to do this. Without these directions, you may be able to find information on line or on the company website. Good luck on setting up your wireless connection. |
