| Above your chins and under your nose is where the teeth
grow, but do you really know a lot of things about them?
Here´s what you should know on teeth. There is a function
that comes with each type of teeth. The teeth in front are
known as the incisors. Apart from shoveling the food in,
these are also the sharpest kind of teeth. Your canine teeth
are the ones near the corner of your mouth. Their long roots
define them and they are known for the teeth capable in
grasping and tearing food. Premolars serve in crushing food
with their flat surfaces and they are found at the back of
canine teeth. Molars are the teeth with flat big surfaces
and are way bigger than the premolars. Grinding the food
into bits is what they are tasked to do. The crown of a tooth as well as its root define the composition of a tooth. The crown is the one you see when you open your mouth, while the root is the one that hides below the gums and constitutes around 66 percent of the length of the tooth. Each tooth is made up of four different tissues. The enamel is the coating that safeguards teeth from breaking down as it chews. Yellow bone like materials covering the nerve fibers and supports the enamel is what is known as the dentin. At the very core of the tooth is where the pulp is, and it also protects the blood, lymph vessels and nerves. Each tooth has a pulp which transmit messages to the brain and ensures that the tooth get enough nourishment as well. Our teeth are connected to the jaw bones by the one that covers it, the part known as the cementum. The periodontal ligament is situated between the cementum and jawbone while it connects it and cushions the tooth. Braces have become a hot commodity in correcting rowdy teeth, but do you really know how they work? There is more use to straight teeth other than aesthetic purposes as this is important in chewing and talking. Cavities are likely to develop in crocked teeth with unnatural spaces. Due to teeth misalignment, jaw lines can be crooked and this can be very excruciating. A method of correcting this is by braces or retainers which are popular orthodontic measures. Crooked and misaligned teethe is treated by orthodontic treatments which use time and general pressure to correct these. Braces are made of a bonding that adheres to the tooth and the arch wire which connects all the brackets together. Many orthodontic patients today choose to go for braces that can attach to the back of their teeth or come in transparent brackets. Braces today have come a long way since its older times known as train tracks.Once these are done with its duties, the patient then has to use retainers. A retainer is a custom made appliance that keeps teeth in their new, straightened position. Small orthodontic quandaries can easily be fixed by these. Ensuring that your teeth are healthy and straight does not only guarantee beauty, but also wellness. We will have good health and plenty to smile about when we know all about teeth and how to properly care for them. |
