to invest time and effort to make sure that your
organization’s fundraising objectives are met. Asking
members to participate in fundraisers is easy at first, but
it becomes difficult to sustain the fundraising sellers’
motivation over time. Several methods should be employed to
keep participants motivated throughout the fundraiser. Because participants take the time to carry out their assigned responsibilities to reach the group’s fundraising goals, you should show the participants that they will also benefit from passionately partaking in the fundraising. Offer them knowledge training for them to better understand your fundraising activity’s goals as well as to be taught the different techniques that will help them sell items to raise more money. Training will also help in making your sellers realize just how important their roles are in reaching your organization’s goals. Recognize your fundraising sellers’ efforts. Giving out rewards to members who perform well will help motivate participants further as well as stimulate non-performing members to take part in fundraising. Intangible prizes such as getting the top sellers’ names, pictures and fundraising statistics displayed in your group or club’s common area for all members to see can also help. For school-related fundraisers, organizers of the event can be made to perform funny consequences or all participants can have a fun activity to help everyone unwind. You can give out early bird rewards fundraising sellers who accomplish certain goals before a specific deadline. The first three sellers to do so get small tokens or prizes such as gift certificates or cash as rewards. You can also set up prize draws or raffles for members in your organization at the end of the fundraising event. Sellers who were able to meet their individual or group goals will be allowed to join the raffle. The number of times members can enter their names in the raffle should correspond with how many fundraising mini-goals they accomplished. Handing out a top seller grand prize to the fundraiser’s top seller will get your sellers all worked up. Cash, movie tickets, tokens, recognition certificates or gift certificates can be handed out to the individual top seller so that he knows his efforts in reaching fundraising objectives are very important to the organization. If you are planning to give out group prizes, then a field trip, a small pizza party or even tickets to a movie can be given out. |
