| Fundraising activities are a great way to get your community
together and work towards a meaningful charitable cause.
While it requires a lot of hard work on the part of the
organizers, the participants’ efforts are also vital in the
success of the fundraiser, which is why it is important to
thank them personally through a note or letter. The
following are useful tips to follow on how to write a
post-fundraising event thank you note. Put the spotlight on the participant. The fundraising event isn't about the organizers, but more about the participants and the time, effort and money they put in to help raise funds for your cause. Thank them for their support instead of boasting about how successful the fundraiser was because of your organizers. Relay relevant information. The purpose of the fundraiser is to help fund your cause. Make sure that you tell the participant about the benefits yielded from their time, effort and money. Tell them about the good things that were achieved thanks to their time and money. Be specific about the results and tell them what exactly you were able to achieve thanks to their donations. Be personal and amiable, even on paper. Communicating through letters or emails removes the emotion out of the speech. Bring back the warmth by speaking from your heart without overdramatizing it. Be sincere in thanking them for their time and effort. For example, instead of saying 'thanks for your time and effort,' write 'Jane, we thank you for your invaluable help. Your donation meant a lot to the team and has helped such a great cause. We are proud to have worked with you on this charitable endeavor.' Offer to give back. They say, do unto others what they have done to you. This is how the wheel of giving goes. One must offer to reciprocate when he or she has been shown support in endeavors such as fundraisers. Show appreciation for their time and effort by offering your support in their fundraising endeavors or community activities. Thank them again! The last thing said is the first thing remembered so keep in mind to end it on a positive note. Remind them of how much their support has helped the cause and thank them one last time without being over the top. Remember to keep your tone casual and remove parts that sound too formal or stiff. The purpose of your letter is to make them feel appreciated and let them know the impact of the support they've given. Give specific details that will give them a clear picture of how their donations have helped the cause as to evoke strong emotions that will surely encourage them to give back and further support your cause in the future. |
