Everyone, at a certain point in life, owes some money that he has to fight for in order to get it back. Taking into consideration that money has always been important in achieving almost everything in life, it is essential to keep track of its amount and of the people or institutions that have to return it to us. If we don’t know exactly who our debtor is or how much money we are owed, we may as well consider the funds lost. In case the sum of money we have to get back is uncertain to us, some people may take advantage of these doubts and split it without our knowledge or approval.

There are states where, if a company owes someone money, it is forced to make use of all its resources to find that person. In case the owner is not to be found, the money is given to the government, the latter being obliged to return it to the right owner, if such a claim is made afterward. After a definite period, if no one asks for the money to be refunded, it remains in the property of the government.

Before you make a claim to regain your money, you should know that the party that owes you money will perceive you as an adversary. Such a confrontation usually starts with a notification that owner of the money sends to the debtor. This notice has the role of informing the latter that there is some money to be returned. There are times when the process of regaining the money by its proprietor ends at this point. The debtor realizes that the other party is aware of the fact that he owes money and that he must pay it back.

You have the possibility to inform your debtor about the money he owes you by using the phone, the e-mail, a letter or in person. Either way, it is recommended to use a formal language and to not get hostile. If you make threats, you may be filled a law suit. Make sure that your notification contains your personal data, the amount that it is owed and also the period of time when the money should be delivered.

You can use a solicitor to do all these things for you. If this method proves to be inefficient, you can make a claim in court. Even if this is the ultimate solution, it will surely be a successful one. This way, the debtor will have to pay you your money back and in most cases he will also have to pay for the trial expenses.
