| Picture the scene: the sun is shining, the temperatures are sky high and you’re out cruising in your car. The radio is pumping, the window is down and your eyes are concealed behind your sun glasses. You may see her in the distance and you can't keep your eyes off her. You then get started singing 'Pretty woman walking down the street, beautiful woman the kind I'd........then BANG. You have just crashed your car. It won't be the basic and it surely won't be the last car accident caused by a man's inbuilt hottie-spotting capacity! It's hard to imagine a more embarrassing phone call to your car insurance company when claiming. Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear has never been one to hold back what he is thinking and last month he decisive to give his persuasion on the matter. He said 'People imagine the most dangerous time of the year to drive is November or perchance February - dark nights, fog, ice' He proceeds, saying that 'Sunny skies, light breezes, girls wearing short skirts, because the thing is, you can't not look. You can't physically not look.' New exploration into this phenomenon has shown that 29% of drivers of the male potpourri admitted to being distracted by the 'Pretty woman' for the duration of summer. The same can’t be said for women drivers where only a really low 3% admitted to being distracted by men. Combine this with statistics that show that men made 16.4% more car insurance claims than women and a clear trend emerges. 25% of men said that within the last 5 years they have had a summertime crash or very near miss. What has your experience been of the same circumstance? Has this ever took place to you and would you confess it to your insurance company or worse your girlfriend? The only words of counsel I may think of to see to it you drive safely this summer is to keep your eyes on the path and not on the ladies. Take yourself out to the beach and get your eyeful there but while on the path remain concentered and attempt not to make a fool of yourself by crashing. That is not going to impress the ladies now is it? |
