Giant Panda bears are endangered species as a consequence of the deforestation. Having their natural habitat only on a few mountains in China, these animals became very popular because they differ from other bear species by the fact that they are pleased with eating only leaves. This vegetarian diet forces them to be busy all day long feeding themselves in order to survive and grow. The Chinese people consider them a symbol of their country and decided to honor them by minting in 1982 pure gold coins with panda bears depicted on them.

Gold and silver coins with the Giant Panda are very sought after by collectors. The general interest was aroused by the original idea of creating new design for every new mintage. This made them so fascinating that collectors from all over the world rejected China Mints decision to freeze the design. This only happened in 2001 and 2002, the following coins resuming the tradition of displaying various pictures with panda bears.

The 2010 Panda gold coins didnt fail their admirers. On the front there is a picture of two panda bear cubs sitting side by side surrounded by bamboo. Above them there is an imprint of the legal value of the coin. On the back the image remained unchanged since the first edition, it displays the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The mint year is written under this image.

The Chinese peoples preference for artistic works of unmatched perfection is known internationally. The fine porcelain, the detailed paintings and other meticulously created works of art are an obvious expression of their taste for perfection. The result of the patience, talent and attention to detail are flawless gold coins resembling miniature sculptures.

All serious collectors are proud to have at least one of those items in their collection. The artistry of design and the purity of gold for those who want to buy gold bullion are good enough reasons for many investors to choose buying Giant Panda pure gold coins. Another reason is the limited mintage which makes them very rare pieces highly appreciated by the community of the coin collectors.
