Depending on your tastes there are a variety of ways to go on a Tanzanian safari. For those that prefer more luxury accommodations you can take a regular game drive style safari tour that includes staying at luxury lodges in one or more of the Tanzanian national parks. For the more adventurous you can take a safari and camp in tents at night. Hot air balloon safaris are great for those that want an unique Tanzanian safaris experience, although they usually are just a morning thing and combined with doing regular game drive type safaris.

1. Luxury Tanzanian Safaris – Luxury Tanzanian safaris are good for those that want to enjoy the safari experience of seeing the wildlife, but still spend at least the evening at a nice lodge with normal hotel comforts. Most of the Tanzanian national parks have at least a few different lodge options including luxury lodges to stay in. The amenities vary from lodge to lodge, but some of them have pools and most have restaurants including some with gourmet fine dining service. While on your luxury Tanzanian safari you can spend the morning on a game drive, the afternoon by the pool, and the evening have a nice dinner at the lodge’s restaurant.

2. Camping Tanzanian Safaris – For those that want a more rugged safari experience choosing camping Tanzanian safaris might be the right choice. On these types of safaris you usually stay in a tent of some sort, including sometimes staying in permanent style tent structures. Sometimes camping safaris include more adventurous wildlife viewing options such as boat excursions and walking safaris. There are also often regular game drive wildlife safaris as part of the camping safaris experience.

3. Hot Air Balloon Tanzanian Safaris – Spotting the African wildlife from above can be an unique way to enjoy a Tanzanian safari. They rarely are the only type of safari one goes on, as they tend to just be a few hour morning excursion. Hot air balloon Tanzanian safaris are a great addition to normal game drive safaris for those that are not adventurous enough to go on walking safaris, but want to experience the Tanzania national parks in another way than just game drives. They can also be romantic experiences and great for those going on a Tanzanian safari as part of their honeymoon vacation.
