| Lack of exercise and activity can lead to aging too fast and
stop you from living a healthy and long life. When you
do'nt exercise regularly you are more likely to feel tired
much of the time and also find it difficult to sleep at
night. If you don't sleep well at night you wake up feeling unrefreshed and exhausted even before you start the day. This get progressively worse until in the late after noon, early evening you are so tired you feel yourself nodding off and may find yourself waking up whilst driving home from work or while watching TV. When you have a good nights sleep your mind will be sharper and you will be able to make important decisions quicker and with less stress. A good nights sleep will lead to you feeling more energized and will even help you control your weight. You will also find that you feel less stressed. When you sleep well you'll also find your immune system will be much more effective and stay healthier. Doctors and Medical Researchers have shown that a good nights sleep is essential for good health. They have found that you when you lack sleep it reduces the growth hormones in your body, this the causes muscle to break down to fat. Sleep is essential for a healthy body but it is also thought that just as important if not more so is exercise. To help your body remain healthy I suggest you should take a few minutes walk everyday. A daily walk works wonders to build your strength and build and maintain your muscles, it will also help remove the stresses and strains of the day. By feeling more relaxed through walking you'll feel more energetic during the day ready to take on any task with a clear mind. In addition you'll find you sleep better at nights. When you decided to exercise on a regular basis you'll find your sleep patterns will also improve. In addition you help your body metabolism perform at it's best. If you don't exercise you will find your body is constantly trying to find extra energy it lacks. The body metabolic system works by releasing either glucose or insulin in to the blood and if the body does not sufficient exercise or sleep it tries to compensate which can lead to significant weight gain. When you feel tired or fatigued, the last thing you feel like is doing exercise. This can lead to further health problems associated with inactivity. Sleeping properly balances out your body giving you, more energy leading to more enthusiasm for exercise and other activities expending energy and needing motivation. Things to avoid are: In order to ensure a good nights sleep and have the energy you need during the day you should moderate or ideally avoid caffeine, nicotine, the use of toxic chemicals, prescription and non prescription drugs unless absolutely neccessary. Many of these substances will lead to insomnia. You should try and stop drinking any kind of soda's, juices and hot beverages which contain caffeine after 8pm. Some poeple find that a cup of warm milk helps them sleep. You should also try not to smoke after 8pm and ideally start taking measures to help you quit smoking all together. Organize a daily walk in the mornings which will encourage your body to wake up, and boost it with energy. This will make you feel better overal, as well is improving your general mobility as your joints will ache less and be more flexible. A futher added benefit of walking as a form of exercise is it is very effective at burning calories helping with keeping your body trim. Plus you'll be feeling much more alert through out the day. Intially when you start walking you should begin at a steady pace slowly adding more distance and speed to your walk as your body becomes more acustomed. When you first start walking you want to careful not to try and do too much but as you get more used to walking build up to a good brisk walking pace. You should start to feel that you are pushing yourself but NOT making youself breathless. Its a good idea to take a short walk either before or after meals as this will help you feel less stressed and generally more relaxed. Plus not forgetting you'll be burning up some of those excess calories keeping you nice and trim. If you start a walking program, it is a lot more fun if you have someone to go with you. Talk to that neighbor or a buddy from work, ask you wife and husband to walk with you sometimes. Just think about it you'll get a chance to talk about new things which will bring you closer together which will help relieve stress and get in you both exercise as well. So you've completed a good brisk walk and the temptation is to just dash back in to your daily routine. Don't do this as this can lead to serious injury or even a heart attack. The correct proocedure after any form of exercise is to complete a warm down or cool down routine. This means you let your body stabalize and your heart rate drop to a normal resting pace. If you find you are suffering with insomnia during the night or your mind simply refuses to switch off after a busy day at work. Instead of getting up and watching the late night TV shows just sit listening to some quiet relaxing music and do a few simple stretching exercises before going back to bed. If you help your body your body will help you. So many people choose to neglect their body. But by just giving it a little attention it will last you well and with a bit of helping hand see you well in old age. |
