| Insuffcient exercise is a major cause of early aging and can
also lead you to other health problems in later life. If you
choose to not exercise and live a generally sedentary life
style (a low activity life style) you will probably
experience problems with sleeping at night and often feel
tired and fatigued during the day When you wake up in the morning, you may feel exhausted and fatigued all day until you finally fall asleep exhausted while watching TV at night or even while driving your car which of course can be very serious. As you, age your body changes and you have to make changes to your life style to accomodate this Enjoying a good night sleep makes the mind work more effectively and helps you make decisions more easily and effectively. A good nights sleep also helps you feel more energetic and this can also help control your body weight. You can also make your decisions with less stress. Sleeping well at night makes our immune system more effective and this help to keep us healthier. Doctors and Health Researchers have proved that a good nights sleep is essential for your health. They have discovered that when you lack sleep it reduces the growth hormones in your body, this allows changes from muscles to fat. Sleep is most important for a healthy body, but is believed at this time that exercise is even more significant. To give your health a helping hand a simple walk for a few minutes a day can work wonders. Walking daily will help to stregthen and build your muscles, ease away stress and any depression you may experience in addition it will help eliminate anxiety. By removing these daily rigours of everyday life you will be able to sleep for a longer and deeper and generally feel more invigorated for the trials and tribulations of the day. When you decided to exercise on a regular basis you'll find your sleep patterns will also improve. In addition you help your body metabolism perform at it's best. If you don't exercise you will find your body is constantly trying to find extra energy it lacks. The body metabolic system works by releasing either glucose or insulin in to the blood and if the body does not sufficient exercise or sleep it tries to compensate which can lead to significant weight gain. Being tired and worn out is no joke and the last thing on your mind when you feel that way is exercising. But lack of exercise and avoiding activities which make you feel energized can lead to you becoming apothetic and unmotivated. Getting a good sleep is crucial and your body will love you for it. Not only that you'll be fired up for the day ahead and look forward to exercise as a stress release method. What you should be looking to avoid: In order to ensure a good nights sleep and have the energy you need during the day you should moderate or ideally avoid caffeine, nicotine, the use of toxic chemicals, prescription and non prescription drugs unless absolutely neccessary. Many of these substances will lead to insomnia. Make an effort not to drink beverages either hot or cold after 8pm this especially important if they contain caffeine or other chemicals (which most do). Some people find a hot milk or malted drink help them sleep more soundly. I also urge you to stop smoking as this in addition to many know benefits will help you when trying to sleep. Plan a program of a daily walk in the mornings which will help wake you up, and boost your energy. This will make you feel better since the joints will become more flexible improving your overal movement. There are several additional benefits not least you'll be able to keep up with youngsters half your age. Plus of course you'll remain trim as one good thing about exercising is as well as helping your body stay young it will burn off those calories as well. Now that's a added bonuses isn't it? If you are new to walking for exercise I recommend that you don't over do things it is all to easy to cause injury or worse if you push to hard at the start. Walking should leave you energized not collapsed on the sidewalk. Remember build up slowly and slowly and you won't go far wrong. A added bonus of all this extra walking is your digestion will work better, you'll enjoy your food more and you'll also sleep soundly at nights. Oh and I nearly forgot it can help your realtionships as well as you'll want a great way to use up some of that new found energy won't you? So you've made the decision to start a program of walking but it can been really boring on your own. Why not ask a girlfriend or boyfriend along as well. You'll be able to chat about things while you work on keeping your body healthy and staying younger. When you finish your walk don't be tempted to dash straight back in to work or the household chores. Give yourself the chance to wind down before you build up again over doing it can have serious consequences and can lead to as many problems as no exercise at all. Just let your heart rate slow back to normal for a few minutes nothing more than that. If you suffer from insomnia and you mind just refuses to relax try this. Get out of bed and instead of putting on some late night TV sit quietly in your arm chair maybe with some relaxing music and do a few relaxation exercises or a bit of light stretching. The effect will be wonderful and help you sleep much easier. You'll find if you take action rather than just ignore your body you will suffer less with the signs of aging and generally feel more energentic and invigorated. |
