The user simply must put the packet in the marked slot and add the correct amount of water. No measuring or clean up of coffee grounds is required, making it very quick and easy to use.

The Percolator

Available in a wide variety of sizes, this type is used by placing a basket of coffee grounds slightly above the water line. As the water is heated up, it is forced through tubes, through the grounds, and back to the bottom of the machine. They can be purchased either to go on a stovetop or to work through an electric outlet, so there is a good deal of variety.

A French Press

This is often preferred by those who love coffee because it can create the thickest flavor. The grounds are directly in contact with the water through the whole process. Grounds and water are placed together in the pot and pressing down a plunger forces the grounds to sink to the bottom and the finished coffee to rise back to the top.
