| The biggest complaint that is most often heard or read
about business websites or blogs is that they have poor
content. Actually, some of Google´s most far-reaching
algorithm changes were directed toward sites that provided
low value. Most of the time, the quality of content is how
Google establishes value of a site. Although we are living in the second decade of the 21st century, we find that quality of content is still an issue. The ability to rise above most of your competition can be accomplished by simply using your brain and focusing on good writing and content quality. Paying attention to copywriting is a way to learn how to connect with your readers on a meaningful level. While some of the time you will connect on a logical plane, you also want to consider emotional connections. There are ways to communicate that will make it seem more personal. For example, 'Have you ever felt so humiliated in your life!' Instead of just talking about an abstract feeling of humiliation, that has a stronger impact when read. You cannot do that all the time, but 'you' can be sure to use the word, you, for greater personalization, as well. You´ve been taught about how powerful 'the story' can be and you know that you can do your own research and that there are extremely helpful alerts that you can use to find the stories that are the most relevant to your niche or market. Then all you have to do is write a blog about them and include some comments and anecdotes of your own. It is important to keep things mixed up within your content so that you don´t start to seem mundane or like the same old thing. People want stories that are interesting, dramatic and that keep them engrossed; you already know that. If you find news stories that seem funny, well--everybody knows that a good laugh is always appreciated. Sometimes it can good to pick something powerful like a certain aspect and expand on it. You could even devote an entire article on one powerful benefit and really pick it apart for the reader. That can be very powerful and if you think about it, you will see that you should never be at loss for content. This approach of narrowly focusing on some important aspect of your content can be executed to great effect. You can provide a link in a more general article that takes your readers to a drilled down article about a benefit. Finally, get straight to the point with your content. Get to the point and in shorter time with your writing approach. Many writers tend to complicate their work by writing in a complex manner. Why make things harder than they have to be in the end? Even your readers will like to read articles that are written in format they can understand. Writing in the manner in which you speak will make your writing go much faster. So make sure that your writing is straightforward in its approach. It is highly likely that, in your marketing efforts, you are going to need to publish at least some form of content. You don´t have to do anything to create content that has more power--you have to make that decision for yourself. But building a good and long lasting business means going above and beyond. There are so many ways that your content can be used to set yourself and your business apart from everyone else. Plus, if you consider how much value there is in building your relationships with your audience then obviously you are going to want to go that extra mile. |
