How Food Relates To Natural Acne Treatment

  Many people are led to believe that acne is caused by certain foods. Chocolate and greasy foods seem to be at the top of the list of no-no's. Many natural acne treatment remedies try to pull diet into the plan.



The fact is research has not proven that any particular food contributes to the cause of acne. When acne breakouts occur, whether teenage acne, adult acne or body acne, there are two conditions that are always present. They include:

Congested pores or hair follicles

The presence of p. acne bacterium in the pores or hair follicles

Plain and simple, those two conditions, no matter how they got there, are basically the causes of acne.

Now, I'm not encouraging you to eat unhealthy foods just because they have no effect on the development of acne. There are many reasons to eat healthy and vitamins and minerals taken in through your diet are great for your skin and other major organs in your body.

Some people find that certain foods seem to contribute to their breakouts. If you think that a food is linked to your particular breakouts, it only makes sense to avoid it as much as possible; however, your main concern should be keeping those pores from getting congested. Clogged pores make a breeding ground for p. acne bacteria which lives in everyone's skin. It is harmless until the opportunity is presented for it to grow uncontrollably.

How do pores and hair follicles get congested?

Clogged pores and hair follicles occur when dead skin fails to shed and when excessive sebum is produced and oil, dirt and dead skin cells accumulate in the pores or hair follicles.

Teenage acne is often contributed to raging hormones and adult acne is usually associated to hormone imbalances. Body acne is said to be partially caused by sweat and skin irritation. Hormones do have something to do with excessive sebum production and skin irritation and excessive heat trapped against the body can cause retention of dead skin cells so overall these things are associated with acne development but, only if it is not addressed to prevent pore blockage.

By using a topical natural acne treatment consistently, you can keep those pores and hair follicles clear which in effect will clear up acne and prevent it from developing again. Sticking to a restrictive diet is not necessary for addressing acne, but you might want to check with your dentist and a heart doctor before you claim chocolate and greasy foods as a staple to your daily diet.
