An Explanation Of Threading

If you´re interested in different hair removal techniques then the recent explosion of methods reaching the public consciousness has probably been really exciting for you. If you´re just the average person looking to have a little hair removal performed then you´re more likely to feel a little confused and frustrated by the number of new methods you have to choose from. One of the more initially confusing methods is one called threading, so let´s take a minute to see how it compares to methods you´re probably more familiar with.

Before you learn anything else you need to understand that threading has a relatively small number of applications compared to other methods. Depilatory creams, inhibiting lotions, shaving, waxing, sugaring- all of those methods can be used on pretty much any part of your body that you want to make smooth and neat.
Threading, on the other hand, is only really used for removing excess eyebrow hair. So unless you´re only looking to have your eyebrows done threading probably isn´t the right method for you.

On the other hand if you are looking to get your eyebrows done (or in some cases your upper lip or chip cleaned up) then threading makes a great option. The closest hair removal comparison to threading is tweezing. They work basically the same way- they grab hold of a hair follicle and they pull it out directly from its root.

Threading works a lot faster because it can grab more hair at one time than tweezers can, but ultimately the principle is the same.
Threading offers a number of benefits over waxing or other means of shaping your eyebrows. For starters threading usually produces a more natural look and shape you your eyebrows compared to waxing or other similar treatments. Threading is also a lot safer and healthier for your skin than waxing and the like. You won´t have to apply a single chemical to your face when you thread your eyebrows and threading isn´t likely to produce any skin irritation or damage after the fact. Your skin might feel a little more sensitive immediately after threading but this feeling subsides quickly.

Threading is also considerably less painful than having your eyebrows waxed. The sensation of threading is a lot like the sensation of tweezing, so you´ll only have to deal with a small amount of discomfort and perhaps a little bit of stinging as you have the treatment performed. Like waxing when you get your eyebrows threaded the hair isn´t going to grow back for at least a month, possibly two, so you´ll get a lot of bang for your buck when you go into a salon.
It should be clear by this point that threading offers a great solution for anyone who is specifically looking to have their excess eyebrow hair removed. It´s superior to the more general options (though no no hair removal reviews point out another great general option) and in some ways is superior to tweezing, its closest cousin. Make sure you go to a dedicated threading salon or shop when you´re getting this work done and you´ll be very happy with the effortless results you receive.
