Saving money on your monthly bills is always a nice thing to do. However, at times you might think that it is going to be impossible to save money on these bills. A couple of the major ones that you can make a difference on quickly is going to be your lighting bill, heating, and air conditioning. Here are a couple of methods that you can implement quickly and easily that can aid you in reducing the amount that you have to pay out each month while turning allowing you to enjoy an energy saving house.

If you use these things you should notice a reduction in those utility bills. However, if you are not seeing a savings you might want to consult with an expert in the field that you still have the high bill in.

The first method is one that involves unplugging unused items. When you go to bed at night you probably are not going to leave the television on all night. Since you are not going to be using it all night you will want to consider unplugging it. By unplugging the items that your not going to be using you will then prevent them from drawing any energy to be in a standby mode to be ready to turn on at a moments notice. The downside is that you might have to plug them in before turning them on again, but it is worth the hassle of having to plug them in when the morning comes around when you get your next bill.

The second tip is to take and on your thermostat for heating or air conditioning you will want to turn the thermostat up or down by a couple of degrees compared to normal. By doing this you will still be comfortable in your home, but it will not be turning on or off as often which will end up saving you money that way as well.

The third method is one that you will involve using curtains for your windows. If you stand next to your window on a warm sunny day you can probably feel the heat coming through them. However, if you use a simple item like a curtain to block out this heat you can notice that your rooms will be cooler than if you didn't have the curtains up. The same holds true in the middle of winter you can notice cool air coming from the windows, but not as bad. The curtains can help trap that cold air as well.

The fourth tip is to make use of the windows again, but this time to open them up on days that you do not need to have heating or air conditioning. You might think that opening your windows on a cool day is a crazy idea, but you will want to realize that you can open them as long as they are on the sun side and gain the warmth that the sun provides. Then on the days when it is not terribly hot you can open them up to let in the breezes that can provide you with some excellent air flow in your home.

The fifth method is to purchase some portable or mounted fans. If you have fans in your home you will probably notice that the air is in constant motion. The constant motion of the air will help provide you with a cooling effect or if you have them blowing the other direction it could be a warming effect as well.

If you are trying to have an energy saving house you will enjoy trying these tips out for yourself. By doing these simple tips you can have a great savings on your bills each month while seeing a reduced usage of energy. The bonus is these tips are very easy to implement and can be done quickly.
