The original Amazon eBook reader was the first one of a kind product, it was perfect for reading ebooks and it did not cause headaches looking at it for too long cause it was not backlit by LCD, but it had some minor flaws. The release of the Amazon Kindle 2 was highly anticipated as it was going to improve on the feature and make it bigger thus improving the use of this little product. The first improvement is most certainly welcome, the price was reduced making eBook readers are more affordable than ever before. It is not just its size, weight and portability that make the Kindle 2 more appealing than ordinary paperback books; it has so much more to offer.

The Kindle weighs a mere 10.2 ounces and holds over 1500 books. Now you don’t have to waste your precious time by going to that bookstore to buy books. You can browse the whole Amazon bookstore from your couch and buy books which are available for your reading pleasure in less than 60 seconds. It also has a genius feature which shows you the books you might like based on what you have already purchased. Kindle used e-ink technology so reading books on Kindle would be like reading from a paper based book.

Because of E-ink technology light conditions do not affect your reading and there is no glare emitted that would cause eyestrain like computer screens or smart phones. Kindle 2 has improved the battery life by 25% which means no need to charge for almost a week. Kindle 2 also has a ‘Read-to-Me’ feature that acts like an audiobook, reading newspapers, books and blogs aloud to you.

The new Kindle is faster has a built in dictionary and wireless Wikipedia. If you own an iPhone, the ‘Wispersync’ feature will sync Kindle with your iPhone and you can pick up your reading anywhere you left off. The possibilities are truly endless with this innovative and useful gadget.
