Garmin fishfinder models are industry-leading products produced by one of the world leaders in personal navigation devices. Starting in 1989 with handheld GPS devices that were used in the 1991 Gulf War, Garmin s product line has since developed not only to include fish finders but a diverse product line that includes automobile navigation devices, aviation GPS systems, outdoor handheld GPS devices and fitness products such as training watches. But it is their marine GPS products that have won the hearts of fishermen all over the world for providing them with some of the most outstanding tools for improving their catches.

The most recent line of Garmin fishfinder models is the Echo series that offers superior sonar performance while still being easy to use and comes with Garmin s HD-ID target tracking technology that clearly detects targets so you ll know just where to drop your line for the best results while providing a very clear picture of underwater contours such as ledges and contours as well as debris and submerged brush. The Echo series includes the following models:

The 550c. This fish finder has a five-inch VGA screen with ultra-sharp 640x480 resolution and 256 colors and displays an amazing amount of detail on underwater information such as contours of the lake bottom and fish returns. The dual beam transducer (77 kHz/200 kHz) provides you with a viewing angle of up to 120-degrees that will allow you to see beyond the sides of your boat. The powerful sonar transmitter lets you see as deep as 1,900 feet under the water. The fish finder comes with an easy-clamp mount with tilt and swivel features as well as a transducer with mounting bracket and trolling motor clamp.

The inclusion of Garmin s Smooth Scaling technology not only ensures that you will retain sonar history when depth ranges change but also lets you review the sonar history so that you can pick up things you might have originally missed. The 500c can also read and display water temperature and water speed using an optional sensor. The 500c comes with quick-release tilt and swivel mount as well as a transom mount for the transducer.
