| If you are planning to master the Hebrew language, then the
first step you should take is to make a plan of how you want
to achieve this goal. There are many techniques available
for Hebrew lessons with which you can master this ancient
language. There are many parameters which should be taken
into consideration before actually deciding your actual path
for learning Hebrew. These parameters are your motivations,
goals, the number of vocabulary words, the available types
of courses and a number of other factors. There is a general belief that if you want to be able to speak Hebrew, you need to know at least 5,000 words of the language. Think of whether this is possible or not. You can break the figure down to the number of words you need to learn each day. If you want to learn just one word of Hebrew each day, it would take you 5,000 days to learn to speak the language. That comes down to around 14 years. You don’t want to spend 14 years of your life to learn one language completely. By any standards that is not going to be cost-effective in terms of the time and effort that you put into learning the language. However, if you plan to learn Hebrew by learning 5 words of the language each day, it would take you around 3 years to finish learning all 5,000 words. It should be noted that whenever you learn 1 word of the language, you would also learn 2 or 3 variations or related words. In Hebrew you can expect to find as many as 20 other words related to one particular word. When you make the choice for Hebrew lessons or courses, you need to be aware of what kind of student you are. You need to find out whether you can learn better through computer, audio, video or classroom. The learning system you choose should be something that is attuned to your style of learning. If your niche is learning through computer, but you can’t sit in front of it for a long time, then you can use a system that can be used while both travelling and sitting idle. You can also carry printed flashcards along with you. The flash cards can help you with reviewing or they can also help you learn a few new words whenever you are out of your home, in a bus, a plane or waiting outside. Carrying a bunch of flashcards is going to be much easier than carrying a book around. If you are looking for the most economical way of learning Hebrew, then video tapes and CDs are the best way to go about it. However, these methods act as great supplementary aids to the basic methods such as learning through classes where an instructor teaches the language. The new approach in learning the language is in the form of online classes conducted by private teachers. The online Hebrew lessons also include some interactive tools like narration, translation and other appealing features. In fact it can prove to be an effective and convenient way to learn the language when you decide to learn it at your own pace. |
