Moscow is so rich with history and so well-kept, it’s hard to choose what to do first. The Red Square, though, must be top on anyone’s list.
Dominated by the Kremlin, the Red Square is built upon the exact area of the first city of Moscow that was famously burnt down to win the war against Napoleon. Many of the best cultural sites are located around the Red Square area, including the State History Museum and the Kremlin of course with its magnificent collection of jewels and weapons at the armory. The Kremlin is in fact an immense complex of buildings, which includes palaces and cathedrals and overlooking the Red Square stands the imposing cathedral of St. Basil with its brilliant colors and bizarre architectural style. If you’re lucky you’ll witnesss the changing of the guards which is so beautifully executed it looks like a ballet.

The Pushkin Fine Arts Museum must not be missed, for it is Moscow’s most important art gallery along with the Modern Art Museum with an impressive collection of post-modern works of art that rarely leave the country.. Another museum well worth visiting is the Moscow City History Museum, which reveals Russia’s turbulent past from the Middle Ages up to the Lubyanka Prison.

Moscow now has great restaurants, There are restaurants that cater to Americans. French, Italians, there are vegetarian cafes, cappuccino and cookie spots, you name it it is here. This is after all a very international and very chic city. Keep in mind, that most of the better restaurants are still close to the hotels. For trendy bustling cafés, head to the Ulitsa Pyatnitskaya, the Belarusskaya Vokzal and the Malaya Bronnaya Ulitsa areas.

Accommodation options in Moscow can be very expensive this is why it is preferable to book a hotel along with a flight to Moscow. Packages are usually the best way to get Cheap Flights and better prices for your stay in a hotel, and it’s important to have a nice place to go to after a full day of sighseeing.

Moscow can experience dramatic differences in temperatures from summer to winter as temperatures range from 30°C in summer to minus 30°C in summer. The very cold weather usually starts in November through to March with the first snowfall in December, while the warmer period goes from mid June to mid August.
