| Cruising is such a fun thing to do. Everybody loves it! All
that wonderful leisure fun, getting pampered by those cabin
stewards, going to cool places, etc. Taking a cruise can be
a vacation of a life time, or a nightmare if things go
wrong. It's best to plan first before you go on board, as
cruising isn't for everyone. Planning your first cruise can be a daunting challenge for those who either haven't traveled much or who haven't taken an organized tour or vacation, but once you have made all the required pre-cruise decisions, the rest of the trip will be easy. Here are some tips on how you can enjoy your cruise. Look for the right travel agent - Booking a cruise is much more complex than buying a plane ticket or looking for a hotel room. As with any vacation, there are many decisions you must make. It is important to look for a professional travel agent who has lots of knowledge in cruising. Make sure he can find you the best deals that will definitely fit your budget, answers all your questions regarding cruise lines or cruise industry and lays out various options for you if you are uncertain, and give brochures and information from different cruise lines. How long it will take - If you have less than a week, you're probably limited to the Mexico, Bahamas, parts of the Caribbean, or a "travel to nowhere". A "travel to nowhere" lets passengers cruise for a long weekend out of port into the ocean and then return. There are no ports of call here, but you will experience how it feels to be on a cruise. A week's vacation will open up the Caribbean to you, and depending on where you live you can even get to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe or the South Pacific. If you can squeeze out ten days to two weeks, you will have many more options or you will have the chance to travel the world. Choose your location - Choosing a cruise destination is often the most difficult decision for cruisers. Every cruise destination has its own unique atmosphere and different nature. Remember that the earth is covered with over of water. This means that you can reach every continent and many countries via your cruise ship. You can choose any of these cruises; Africa, Alaska, Asia, Australia, Antarctica, Mediterranean, South America and many more. Bring all your documents - Take all your important travel documents such as, passport, id's, driver license, and more. In an event something happens, you'll have the information needed and you can get help easily. As much as possible don't forget to bring maps or direction and even phone numbers. Once you're lost, you'll have guide to where you're going or you can call for help. Check your luggage - Bring clothes that you only need. Do not place valuable jewelry, money, medicine, one of a kind documents or fragile items such as cameras or radios in your luggage. Most of all be prepared. There are some events that will happen unexpectedly or beyond your control. Just be prepared for these things and take a necessary action if you don't want to ruin your dream cruise. Lastly, have fun and enjoy your cruise! |
